Hats Off To You Miss Kate Middleton!
By now, unless you live under a rock or something, I'm sure all of you have heard about the royal wedding. I sure have.
IT'S THE ROYAL FREAKIN WEDDING!
AAAAAH!
Yeah, I guess you can say I'm pretty excited for it :)
My mom told me that she got up super early the day of Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding, and like mother like daughter you can be sure I will be up at 4 A.M. on Friday the 29th to witness the wedding magic. Oh yeahhh.
I have no clue why Americans get more excited for this kind of stuff than the Brits do. I mean it's not like they went into a frenzy when our first African-American president was elected. Hmm. I guess we get the "American Dream" and they get princesses and royal weddings and such.
Not fair.
Anywho, let's move on shall we?
Let me take you back to when the lovely royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton first got engaged...
1. I had no clue they had even been dating, let alone for almost 8 years!
2. My mom told me that I sort of look like her. Which I then took as an insult because, hey, I had only seen pictures of past royal Princesses and Queens when they were older. And yeah, maybe, somehow, I thought she was old. My bad.
But Miss Kate Middleton is sooooooo pretty!
I think another reason for all of this hype about her is because she IS normal. She isn't royal or special in anyway other than dating the Prince. Which is pretty romantic. *Que the sappy Disney Princess movie soundtrack*
So in honor of this royal occasion. I'm going to celebrate by focusing on how "normal Kate" seems to always look royal.
First, lets talk about hats.
Kate has really taken the dull hat trend (only rarely seen at the horse races, Easter, and the occasional funeral) and given it new life.
Kate's new fashion staple has put designers like Whiteley Fischer (in the millinery business for 60 years) and Philip Treacy back on the map.
And here are some hair pieces that I'm sure Kate herself would enjoy.
Below are some head pieces found on Amazon.com by designers such as USABride, Feathermart, and Zad Jewlery ranging in price from $15 -$65.
And here are some more affordable pieces from Forever 21 ranging from $4.80- $12.80
That's it for now!
Until next post,
Peace, Love, Royal Weddings, and Fashion,
Em

Romp Around! [:
Alright, so I've been very....all over the place with my postings lately.
For that I am sorry.
And if any of you were expecting a Glee post this week, (like I said I would be doing) you aren't getting one.
Sorry again.
With that being said...
This post is dedicated to my friend Bree.
Because she convinced me to get this romper.
And she reads my blog(:
Yes, she had to convince me to get this romper because I'm actually not a "romper person".
(Shocker I know!)
She also got a romper. So I thought that she (and the rest of you romper noobies) would need a little help.
For the record, I normally don't ever do posts like these where I wear one piece different ways. But I do occasionally give advice to friends when they ask so I figure hey, why not put my advice on the Internet right?
Here are a few ways that you can accessorize your rompers for a different looks:
ADVERTISEMENT HERE
I got this little romper from Forever 21. It's on sale for $9! Steal :)
Okay I'm done...
For more of a "school friendly" look add:
* Cute, simple sweater
* Statement necklace (fancy fashion lingo for a big interesting necklace)
* Sneakers (school ground's best friend)
For more of a "edgy" look (<-- OK so maybe I should have come up with a better name for this, but alas, I couldn't. Apologies.) add:
*Headband
* Slouchy sweater vest
* Chunky belt
* Gladiator sandals
And for a "laid back hipster" look (Yeah, I used that term! What!...kidding) add:
* Straw hat (yes, it should be straw! (: )
*V-neck (great for those of you with those tricky strapless rompers!)
* Patterned vest
* Leather belt
* Oxfords
Or without the hat....
Helpful? Yeah? Hope so.
Until next post,
Peace, Love, Fashion,
Em

I'll make you into a great fashion photographer someday kid!
One day.. I'll make you proud. I promise.
Happy Thursday everyone! (favorite day of the week ;])
I feel like I say this a lot, but gosh I'm busy. Anyone else?
Okay well Tuesday night my school had it's annual open house/competition event. Basically you can enter projects that you've done throughout the school year and submit them for a competition.
I've entered for the past...well, a lot of years.
This year was no different :)
So I decided to enter the dress that I had made for a friend's prom (see the "My Designs" page. It's there!) And I got first place.
Not too bad eh?
Here I am below with my entry...
I believe that any occasion is an occasion to dress up so here is a look that I put together for the night. And sorry for the super awkward posing, but I was getting stared at so I wanted to just take the picture and be done with it.
In the photo I'm wearing an American Eagle tank top, Rampage vest, silver flower belt from a store named CottonOn, black bead necklace that has been in my family for about 7 generations, Necessary Objects skirt, Vera Wang tights, and my Forever 21 combat boots with leg warmers.
Enjoy the rest of your week! I don't know about you but I could use a couple more hours in my day.
Until next post,
Peace, Love, and Fashion,

Who Is Oscar Anyway?
Alright who watched the Oscars this past weekend?
I sure did.
And who caught the red carpet show?
I did. Duh :)
Lately my time devoted to various design projects has been strictly for my spring formal that is fast approaching.
That's right, I'm making my own dress :)
If it turns out like I'm planning it to, then it will be very cute. And I'll be sure to post about it when I'm finished with it. (Which will hopefully be soon!)
So In honor of both of these I've made a short compilation of different traits of various Oscar gowns and translated them to less formal (but of course still formal) dresses.

The ever so lovely Miss Anne Hathaway wore many gowns that evening. (jealous much) One common trait among them was sparkle. They were long, they were slimming, and they SPARKLED.
Same with Amy Adams. I also liked the cut of her gown. It was conservative without being too covered up. It was classy.
Here are some dresses have the length, sparkle, or cut.
And Nicole Kidman!
I don't know what exactly it was that drew me to her dress, but it is just so interesting! I think it looks better when she is walking in it though.
Anyways, with this dress I like how different it was. The various beading and the not so typical shape was very interesting to look at. So its definitely an attention getter.
Here are a couple of attention-getters...
Hopefully it helped if you were in need of some formal dress advice.
If not, it's always fun to look at pretty dresses anyways right?
Until next post,
Peace, Love, Oscar (hehee), and Fashion

Get Up And Go Can Be Cute Too :)
So this week has been quite the busy one. In honor, I decided to share my favorite fashion pieces for when I'm on-the-go.
By the way Happy Belated Valentine's Day.
It lasts all week for me so there.
1. Big sweaters.
It finally got cold here in SoCal so we can actually pull these off while having them be functional.
I guess I could also add big button down shirts to this category.
Here is Kate Bosworth pulling off the look and a sweater from American Eagle Outfitters.

2. Floral skirts.
Cute. Spring-ish. Comfortable.
Even on those days when you feel super tired and lazy and so unfeminine this can put the girlie girl right back into you.
Below the lovely Miss Taylor Swift sports the floral and a skirt from Forever 21.

3. Tennis shoes.
Vans, Converse, whatever.
I've been seeing them paired with dresses and skirts a lot lately.
The sneaker is becoming more and more versatile. Plus a white pair is great for days when you are just sitting around bored. And happen to have some markers near you of course ;)
Below are the Helens by Jack Purcell for Converse
4. Toms :)
Good for your feet and good for the world!
These are a cute pair...
4. Sunglasses. Duh.
Okay if I had to pick one accessory, sunglasses would be it.
Rayban wayfarers to be exact.
Plus how else are you going to hide how tired you really are?
These are pretty cool.
I guess shoes aren't the only thing you can doodle on now :)
And I didn't get "visual stimulation" for these but plain white Ts and scarves.
The shirt for its simplicity,
the scarf for wearing over ugly shirts. Enough said.
So that is my take on lazy day fashions.
Feel free to share your own.
Until next post,
Peace, LOVE, and Fashion,
Em

Quand En France
French toast, French roast, and French fries.
Nope. Not hungry. Just inspired :)
My mom recently got her Talbot's catalog in the mail (she should just own stock in that company because she shops there so much...) and it was all about fashions with a French twist. A little later I made my own beret. Like I said, inspired.
Then I saved the catalog and made an inspiration board.
Talbot's "French Twist" line.
Cute floral oxfords that go alone with my inspiration :)
(Anyone notice how many times I mention oxfords?!?...hehee)

So I don't know how long this obsession peu (little obsession) will last...

Translation credits to Google Translate. So if it's wrong. I'm sorry.
"You can't just walk out of a drive-in"
Oh Danny...
So here is an outfit inspired by the movie Grease and many other things like poodle skirts, Jackie Kennedy, and my grandma's old stories of when she wore "saddle shoes",which were kind of like oxfords. (She really loved those shoes by the way)
In these photos I'm wearing an off white shrug from Forever 21, a red belt that I bought awhile back and have since forgotten where it was from, a black skirt made by yours truly, lace leggings, and my go anywhere leather boots :)
I also have to mention that I've been meaning to put up more of my own designs and such on the "My Designs" page but, wouldn't you know, that I took them with a friends camera and am still waiting for the photos :( Lesson from this story? Kids, always use your own camera ;) But hey, I'll add the black skirt there now.
Until Next Blog!
Peace, Love, and Fashion :)
