Sophisticated Floral Table Arrangement
Eeeep. You know sometimes you can think little vases of flowers on table arrangements can be cute....but can they be sophisticated? Well the answer thanks to Sofia Crokos via Camille Styles is a resounding yes! Just check out this soiree Sofia did recently - for me, its the elements surrounding the florals that bring everything up a notch. From the silver plates to the white linens to the frosted vases. I. Love. It. All.
A Wedding Table Extravaganza
Eeeeeeep. There are so many fabulous elements to this Wednesday Inc wedding shoot for Ruffled. I'm going to go with Feminine Industrial in describing this look. Antlers, Twine and glass mixed with candles and hand crafted elements give this celebration an amazingly magic feel. Did you know the balls hanging above the table are hand made? Oh yes! Take twine, wrap around a balloon and then cornstarch like mad.
LOVING This
Simple? Yes. Cute? Yes. Parchment paper and a bow are bound to jazz up any homemade delight you bring to a friends house.

What Our Christmas Looked Like
I thought I'd share with you some pictures from our family Christmas, you might remember my aunty Trishy gave me the job of table decorations. Well, the theme was "Layers of Christmas"- we used craft paper with a red fabric runner on top, then using artist mannequin's we created a festive feature (Trishy actually made those outfits!) and interspersed it with individual vases of Christmas bush. We also used individual tags to leave a Christmas message on each plate. To create a bit of height we hung lanterns at the far end of the table and made some ivy wreaths. Surprisingly the wreaths were super easy to make.
Something to Try
A Table Setting Anyone Could Do
Every time I visit the Sunday Suppers site I find a new idea for table settings or delicious food. Today I came across this easy setting and I think anyone could just about do this. Here are three things that I think make this setting.
1. The layering of plates. It helps make it feel just that little bit more fancy.
2. For a more personal touch, a menu card. Don't worry if you can't print your card like these pictures, it could be written on vintage postcards, brown kraft paper. Get creative.
3. Left of centre table placements. I love that the knife, fork and spoon are all grouped together on the right hand side, who says you have to put them on each side of the plate? And the double drinking glasses help create texture and interest.
Personalised Table Labels
This is clever. Rather than table numbers this couple commissioned an illustrator to make labels for their tables based on photos and mementos that were close to them. Loves it.

Flower Table Pieces
Here's a clever idea for a bonbonaire - it sure beats the traditional almond sugar option. The very talented Chelsea of Frolic created these eco friendly flower favours. And they are super simple to do. All you need is are some potted plants which are wrapped in kraft paper then a white label is added and stamped with the guests name and table number. You can read the full tutorial over at DIY wedding.

Brooke, This One's For You
My lovely friend Brooke is on a jam jar collection at the moment for some hanging candle lanterns. So I thought she'd love to see this slight twist on the idea - candle lanterns as a tablescape. I love this thought - so simple and sweet.
