It was super awesome that my mom decided to take my lil sis and I to a vintage fashion show held out at our town's local theatre( the Warner Grand). My mom wanted to go to support our theatre, but I wanted to go TO SEE THE FASHION!
OK, so I decided to tell all you lucky readers how it alllllll went down.
So the fashion show was at 7:00 P.M. last Sunday night. I had church at 5:00 so I had to rush home and change. FOR THE RECORD it took me all of 8 minutes to be ready. (yeah believe it!) And this was the end result....
( OK sorry but it was night time, so of course I had to take a night shot. p.s. I made that skirt and got to wear my "Jenny Humphrey" ankle boots! Plus my lil sis let me borrow her electric blue tights :) )
So we got to the theatre and they gave each of us a program..
Plus soooo many people were dressed vintage!!!! ( I was so jealous!)
So finally the lights dimmed and the show started. Here was the order of things.
Intro: Some lady who was the director of Grand Vision Foundation (the fundraisers to help the theatre)
Then came the fashion show. Oh and for each category they picked an artist who best represented that category.
Lingerie : Dedicated to Joyce ballantyne (1918-2006) who worked in illustrative art.
Next was the bathing suits, which actually were quite covering. ( I should know since I'm a swimmer ;) )
Dedicated to Pearl Frush a top women glamor artist.

Play suits: Dedicated to Alberto Varga (1896-1982) a Hollywood studio artist.
(OK for clarification play suits were "casual wear" at the time)
Day dresses: Dedicated to Harry Ekman (1923-1999) a commercial artist.
Formal Afternoon(a.k.a brunch at the club lol) : Dedicated to Gil Elvgren (1914-1980) a pin-up and glamor artist.
Evening gowns: Dedicated to Rolf Armstrong (1889-1960) one of the best pin-up artists of the first half of the twentieth century. His artwork appeared sheet music and magazine covers.
And that was it! All the models came out in different outfits that were made up of pieces that were either for sale or donated by private collectors. Here are some of the stores credited in the show...
